General, BOI Cargo Custom Clearance and Door Deliveries
This includes both General Cargo and BOI Clearance of goods brought in for local consumption (E.g. Fabric) as well as machinery and goods for Governments and Private Projects. UCL also undertakes the unloading of special goods with the help of special equipment. Further to this, we specialize in Custom Clearance and Delivery of motor vehicles at the Colombo and Hambantota ports. As a full service customs broker, we are well versed in working with all government departments relating to the release of foreign and domestic goods, with a strong knowledge of customs and BOI regulations.
Entrepot Trade
UCL specializes in Entrepôt Trading, in which merchandise is either imported, stored or traded with the intention of re-exporting. In this instance, the goods can be stored in a bonded warehouse for ensuing re-export to a third party, which mitigates the need to pay custom duties and levies.
Sri Lanka has the advantage of being ideally located on the path of the East-West maritime route, with a favorable tropical climate all year round, aiding undisrupted movement of cargo vessels.
